Whoopee-doo, yet another week has passed by. Nothing eventful or worth mentioning happened really, the past 5 days were as normal and ordinary as possible. Oh, the BT engineer finally came around so the new phone line is up and running in this house that I've moved to. Now I have to wait till Wednesday for the ADSL to get activated, and we know what that means. I shall get a peak back into WoW after such a long time! I'd take my 2Mbit ADSL connection anyday over the 10Mbit one that I currently have through the University local area connection, as this one has a majority of the ports blocked hence making it useful for HTTP and POP/SMTP only.

Welcome to the new gverma.com! ^_^ I was a bit bored of my previous website design and functionality, so I upgraded to wordpress and everything looks and performs awesomely so far. I am very impressed, and lets just say that the current design won't be going anywhere for a long while.

Pardon me for the vulgar title, but that's exactly what this post is about: Shit Food. I was almost out of food today, and didn't want to go shopping in the evening, neither did I feel like getting more take-away. Determined, I decided to cook the last bits of what was left of my frozen food. So what did I have for dinner today? Bacon, beef steak and vegetables; also known as shit food because of how destructively I made it.

I've picked up two new anime series recently, one of them is very bloody (to say the least). Titled Blood+, this is an anime based off the movie and certainly had a gruesome first episode.

The other series is by Gonzo Digimation and is titled Black Cat. Great animation, a bit of comedy and interesting storyline; this has potential! I liked Black Cat better than Blood+, seen the first two episodes so far.

Lastly, Cowboy Bebop! Out of all the anime series that I have watched, there were always these three overhyped series that I had always missed out on: Cowboy Bebop, Neon Genesis Evangelion and Great Teacher Onizuka. I received the OGM's for the first two series with Joe's help and just finished watching the final episode of Cowboy Bebop.

I really enjoyed this series, had to struggle with time fitting in an episode wherever I could between my work. Even though the storyline isn't consistent from episode to episode straight away, the series still kicked ass. It's like another Samurai Champloo, only better (not that it's about samurais or sword fighting, was relating to the standalone episodes). Glad I finally watched it, now I know what people meant when they complimented the show.

Whoa, I'm actually alive o_O!

A lot of stuff has happened this summer. Some very scrutinizing experiences have left a lot of painful memories, and it's not something I really want to remember. The only thing I want to remember from summer 2005 is what I learnt from it, and how I have moved on to achieve my ulterior motives in life. Hence, I have no intentions of recapping the events that have occured in the past 4 months, but will just move on and continue this blog as if nothing has happened in between. Will this work? I think so! So once again, welcome (back) to my blog: Hajimemashte. ^_^

Now time to move onto bigger and better things: Yakitate! Japan.

I was casually talking to my friend Joe on AIM and asking him about what new anime I should pick up next. He showed me the list of series he was currently watching and we compared our lists, it then struck him that I am not watching this particular series called Yakitate Japan. He was in shock, even so as to blindly say that the series is by far just crazy and I must watch it straight away. Joe's taste in anime coincides with mine, so I was pretty impressed with such words wondering what kind of a miracle new age anime just slipped by my eyes which I never noticed? I went to animenfo.com and looked a the anime details, even looked at screenshots and then went back to Joe to say, "What the ****? Bread?? It's an anime about bread? Dude, have you lost your mind?". He replied back asking me to ignore all of that and just watch it. Swearing to send assasins after him if he was wrong and had made me waste my time watching some anime about wheat and yeast, I leeched his FTP dry and got hold of all the episodes which had been released so far. And oh...my...god! Yakitate Japan is now definitely one of my favourite animes of all time! It's crazy, I know; what the heck is wrong with the Japanese for dedicating a whole series to bread? But believe me it's just so hilarious, I love it. I would recommend this anime to anyone anytime, whether you are a first time watcher or a dedicated fan of Japanese animation.
